“I will teach you to respect me completely, and I will put a new way of thinking inside you. I will take out the stubborn hearts of stone from your bodies, and I will give you obedient hearts of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26 NCV

November 14 2023 update from Ben Johnson writing at The Washington Stand (good source): What Comes After Ohio’s Issue 1?
You’re likely disappointed and dazed a little about the result of the Issue 1 vote in Ohio on November 7. We’re going to stay vigilant and I have some hope for you.
Via Ben Johnson on The Washington Stand:
Ohio voters adopted Issue 1, which creates a constitutional right to abortion, by a 57% to 43% vote, according to figures provided by the Secretary of State. The amendment states: “Every individual has a right to make and carry out one’s own reproductive decisions, including but not limited to” abortion, with a broad exception for the mother’s “health.” Issue 1 also bars the state from infringing on these rights “directly or indirectly.” Pro-life proponents Protect Women Ohio and the Center for Christian Virtue pointed out the term “individual” and “reproductive decisions” could erase parental rights and invent a constitutional “right” for minors to have transgender surgeries without parental consent.
Al Perrotta, The Stream’s Managing Editor, has some fire in his pen. Check out his November 8th morning update on what he’s dubbing a “Moloch Movement.” Just as in ancient times when worshippers offered child sacrifices to Moloch, these enduring spirits find new manifestations throughout history.
After millions upon millions of dollars of outside Soros-tied money poured into red Ohio, the voters chose to enshrine in their state Constitution unfettered, unlimited access to abortion … and as an extra bonus to the demonic … language that would allow children the right to cut off their breasts and genitals.
A few more excerpts before I share a few thoughts. David Zanotti is the President and CEO of the American Policy Roundtable, headquartered in Strongsville, Ohio. APR is a non-partisan independent public policy organization that supports no political parties or candidates. This is from their press release on November 8:
Today’s vote was a victory for George Soros, Arabella Advisors and the progressive cartel that paid over $40 million to buy a piece of the Ohio Constitution for their allies at Planned Parenthood.
Even before the election, I was wondering if the amendment would or could be challenged if it passed. It looks like the American Policy Roundtable will challenge it. It’s likely that it will be challenged from other quarters too. Here’s more from their press release:
“Because Issue One is an unsustainable amendment, the Ohio Roundtable is calling for immediate hearings in the Ohio Legislature to address the ramifications of the more than 50 state laws, which conflict with the new Article I, Section 22 of the Ohio Constitution. We are also asking the Ohio General Assembly to immediately pass a joint resolution to replace and repeal Section 22 with a more reasonable framework in the 2024 November election,” stated Rob Walgate, Ohio Roundtable’s Vice-President. “This will provide a fair opportunity to clarify the Ohio laws that were intentionally misrepresented in this election.”

A Few Thoughts …
- The pro-life movement’s strength lies beyond legal and policy battles. It harnesses the spiritual realm, crisis pregnancy centers, heart and mind persuasion, life-changing repentance, Christ-driven worldview shifts, dedicated discipleship, and more. We are equipped by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!
- We have to get more “shrewd” in the Lord. Listen to what Jesus said about the unjust steward in Luke 16:8: The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. “For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light” (ESV).
- Should “the sons of this age” outsmart the “sons of light” in worldly matters? Let’s have faith that, guided by the Holy Spirit, we possess the vision, strategy, and tactics of our Commander, the Lord. The children belong to Him, and the earth is His dominion. We have the Mind of Christ together. Challenges give us the opportunity to level up.
- Andrew Breitbart, of Breitbart News, famously noted that culture is upstream from politics. Expanding on this, we recognize that Worldview and Belief Systems (such as Christianity or Secularism and more) form the even more upstream currents shaping our world.
- Here’s the Apostle Paul on battling in the public arena of thought, narratives, and society: “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not wage battle according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NASB).
- Prayer is always our key—bridging heaven and earth in a partnership. We grasp the Father’s heart for the world, pray, and proclaim. But we don’t stop there. We act in prayer-guided ways by the Holy Spirit. This connection and empowerment set Kingdom Agents like us apart from the likes of George Soros and others.
Hopefully gaining a little perspective here. It’s a process: Prayer > Processing > Performance. That’s our target—never retreat, always advance with The Commander. Watch for fresh content and resources on this page in the coming days.

Things are not right with our beautiful land of Ohio:( We have failed you, Lord, and confess our waywardness. Even though it is after the results, we pray for a realization of what has been done,…for a humbling and turning of hearts, a confession of sins, and a healing of our land. We pray for parents, for a divine protection of the children, both born and unborn. We pray for a seeking after the things of God and a spiritual awakening among us, our friends, families, co-workers, churches, schools, neighborhoods, state, and nation!
Yes, Stephanie, we agree with you in faith. We take ownership and responsibility for the State of Ohio. Grant us the grace of a clear and deep repentance, Father. Holy Spirit, bring conviction of sin, righteousness, and judgment to the citizens of Ohio as Jesus said you would do.
As I walked and prayed Tuesday contending for the healing of our land and people I was steeped in hope from striking the ground again. Weds left me devastated and heartbroken. How are we here? Too many have traded the GO of the Gospel for basking in the afterglow of distractions. Lord break our heart with what breaks yours and tune our ears to hear Your voice. Let us be marked for eternity not these earthy things. Let us talk to the one you have your eyes on today.
We sound our prayer together with you, Maria. Thanks for your heart on this issue and for Ohio Land. "Lord, give us your resilience for our state." Concerning the Lord: “He will not be disheartened or crushed until He has established justice on the earth; and the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law" (Isaiah 42:4 NASB).
I believe the underlying key here is transformed hearts and lives.
We can, and should, legislate, but until and unless there is a corresponding heart and character of individual lives to value life and goodness, laws for good will suffer entropy.
The institutional church has failed in Ohio. We have little to no impact culturally. Christians must find the stream that the Holy Spirit is working in and move there to change lives.
On point, Bruce! Hearts of "stone" transformed to hearts of "flesh." Ezekiel 36:26 NCV — "I will teach you to respect me completely, and I will put a new way of thinking inside you. I will take out the stubborn hearts of stone from your bodies, and I will give you obedient hearts of flesh."
It's increasingly obvious that run-of-the-mill Church will not meet this hour. We need a Buckeye Ekklesia (Church) that is vibrant, Kingdom-minded, and occupying until he comes. Accurate alignment today is the name of the game. Alignment with King Jesus and the people of the Kingdom.
This was a heartbreaker of an election, but we can't let it be the end. We need to have the same determination that the other side has. It is often a long road to eliminate a deep evil from a culture, but we have to keep moving in the right direction. Overturning Roe finally gave us the chance to start flighting at ballot box and in the hearts and minds of our fellow citizens. Now we need to get serious about that.
Good, forward-looking perspective! Roe was always a deeply flawed Supreme Court decision from a constitutional point of view. You're right. The contest is now at the state level where it should have always been. The quest for hearts and minds, along with strategic voter mobilization, becomes more efficiently conducted at the grassroots level.
Very interesting insights that we haven't heard on even conservative news outlets! VERY encouraging that the Moloch Movement's victory is going to be challenged! I have to wonder how many eligible votes actually voted? Lord, we pray that, at the very least, voters the other 18 states where similar legislation / constitutional amendments will likely be proposed in future elections will be shocked and appalled into spreading the truth and ensure its defeat.
Amen to that!
Moloch Movement … what a moniker, right? Voter turnout was not good on the "No" vote. No excuse really. That was likely part of the strategy in placing this amendment on the ballot during an off year. Not even a mid-term election, let alone a presidential election year. Still no excuse. Part of the challenge is that the "No" vote was out-spent and out-hustled. And probably out-motivated. Still, prayer is always the lead in our path forward, as it is in all of life. Our quest should be for prayer-borne steps to take. We look for restoration and the Lord of All working all things after the counsel of his will (Ephesians 1.11-12).
Lord, we pray that the hearts of those who know You will only press further into this issue and recognize the opportunities we have to help those that have been given over to this lie.
Yes, Lord, we do understand we are the Light of the Lord, and we agree that your Light via us will manifest the true nature of evil. May the Holy Spirit "prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment" (Jesus in John 16:8 NIV).
