Hello, Friend

Welcome to the Royal Brew Letter ... the only newsletter that knows that diligent use of the weedeater makes the wife sunny and happy. It's true, the RB Newsletter has a spouse!

Revelation first. Then understanding.

This is the 3rd of 4 parts (it's grown from 3 to 4!) in our tiny series on praying with the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 1:15-23.

See parts 1 and 2:

1st part - Merge God's Breath with Your Breath

2nd part - Steal the Apostle Paul's High-Leverage Prayer

Paul then asks that the eyes of their heart will be enlightened.

“And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know …” Ephesians 1:18 Amplified

Revelation is an uncovering of something which has always been there. It’s just revealed to us for the first time.

God does not hide things from us, he hides them for us.

Then there is an opportunity for our understanding to be renewed so that it aligns with the revelation. This is the transformation of the mind Paul spoke of in Romans 12:2. And the renewing of the spirit of the mind in Ephesians 4:23.

It seems there’s usually a lag between revelation and understanding. But as our mind is renewed, it creates an abundant internal state.

Our internals harmonize with the potential of Christ’s world (kingdom)!

Challenge: consistently pray this prayer from Ephesians 1:15-23. Only good can come from it.

Regal bearing

I'd like to reflect more with you on this ...

As we are born again in Christ, we come into His Kingdom. See Jesus in conversation with Nicodemus in John 3.

See Paul's understanding of translation into the Kingdom of the Beloved in Colossians 1:13-14. Now, in this age.

Did you see the highlights of the coronation of King Charles in England this past weekend?

In my time with the Lord this morning, a prayer theme surfaced of living with a Regal Bearing in Christ.

We are kings and priests in Christ. See 1 Peter 2 and Revelation 1. We are seated with King Christ in his session in Ephesians 2.

I love the word "Regent." Always have. It's just in me. I can only assume the Lord sovereignly placed it in me.

It's like I'm an American with a British Bent. Actually, it's a Christ Bent.

This should affect us in thought, word, and deed. We should carry ourselves in life with a regal bearing.

Many things should be beneath us, the Vice Regents of Christ. Actually, everything should be.

Only the headship of Christ is above us.

Sovereignty. Dominion. All to the praise of his glory (Ephesians 1).

Let me work with this more in study and prayer ...
