Thankfully, in Christ, we die to ourselves as a False King. And more, we’re raised as Vice-Regents of Christ’s Kingdom!
“[The Father] made us alive together with Christ … and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:5-6 NASB).
Authentic Christ-Followers are key in the God Story. The implications are stunning!
This is the second half of my conversation with Matt Raines. It’s good as a stand-alone. Listen to the first half of our conversation (episode #41): Understand the Kingdom Story, Acts I-V — Find Your Place.

Some of Our Dialogue Edges on Vice-Regents in Christ’s Kingdom
- A Grand Narrative is at play — a marred Creation is moving toward the New Creation. The Father is putting all things right through Christ.
- The Church (Ekklesia) is not just a capsule to get us to heaven! It’s a microcosm of the New Heavens and Earth to come … a precursor of the fullness of the Kingdom.
- Our Life Story is at its best as we harmonize our story with the Big Story of God. We experience unique lives as Vice-Regents of Christ’s Kingdom.
- All of this has significant implications for our spiritual development — being conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 8:29-30, Galatians 4:19).
