Kingdom Elements in this Episode
- We remember the heinous death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
- The need for policing reform in some contexts.
- Authentic peaceable protests are being overtaken by outside elements, pushing it into rioting.
- The need for the transformation of the human heart.
- The Society of Jesus is a “society within a society” which demonstrates the values of the Kingdom of God.
- Being intimate with Father God and focusing on the Father’s business, not the agendas of men.
- Our responsibility to bring something of heaven into all things, including contexts of crisis.

Great stuff, Brian, Willie and Rachel! Was really glad to take part in this discussion. It can be intimidating for a lot of folks right now so it’s good that we can come together in community and talk about it. Thanks for facilitating it!
It was a solid dialogue, JCL. And of course, it’s a sensitive and significant topic. Listening and ideating are important. I thought we had some original thinking here.
Excellent perspectives. As a Christian I appreciate the reminder that we must not be filled in to viewing world events through a worldly lends… we must focus on a Christ like response. Our nation is be tested in ways we haven’t seen in 100 years, we have to be the answer, church needs to have a compassionate uprising.
Absolutely, Chris … how we see and interpret is key. Only with a “Christ-lens” can we meet the moment with wisdom from above.
