Living your best life has a lot to do with your “shout.”
Do you know that God rises over your life as you make a joyful noise? “God has gone up with a shout!”
And when God rises up over the affairs of your life, you are going to be blessed—you’ll be on your way to living your best life.
But what do I mean by our shout?

God has gone up with a shout!
True, we need personal consecration and faithful obedience to experience God’s best.
But don’t forget your shout!
Here’s why. Psalm 47:5 says, “God has gone up with a shout” (NKJ). God ascends to his place of authority as a king … as his people praise.
Now you may say, “Wait. God is sovereign. He can take his rightful place of authority all by himself. Any time he wants.”
Yes, he is sovereign (authority as a king) over all things. But we’re talking about the Creator’s sovereignty practically manifesting in the space and time of our lives. Or any earth-borne situation.
Our Adversary seeks to suppress our Life Voice. Our Life Voice includes lifting our voice in praise to the Creator. It also includes our Life Message … our calling, the influence we’re designed to bring to life. Resolve to make a joyful noise with your Life Voice! God then acts on your behalf!
Let’s remember this is a partnership. God is sovereign. Yet we are to exercise dominion. Dominion in harmony his sovereignty. We flow with him.
“The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, but the earth He has given to the sons of men” (Psalm 115:16). Given can also be translated assigned.
The Scriptures are filled with life stories of this powerful interplay between heaven and earth … God cooperating with the faith, obedience, and activity of his people. Or I should say, we flow and cooperate with him.

So how’s your signal-to-noise ratio?
It’s never been noisier. The soundscape of our lives (within and without) can activate an unhealthy stress level.
See Julian Treasure: The 4 Ways Sound Affects Us (TED Talk, 5:46)
We have to get control of our personal signal-to-noise ratio. As we filter the extraneous noise all around us (and even internally) … we can then hone in on that accurate signal for our lives.
Do you feel like life is shouting at you? If all we do is listen to damaging noise (actively or passively), and do not develop our own authentic voice from within, we will always feel acted upon.
Get louder … make a joyful noise and see God act!
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth” (Psalm 98:4 KJV). Other translations say, “Shout joyfully to the Lord.”
Instead of yielding to people and circumstances shouting at you, you can release your own shout which activates what’s best for your life. It also offers glory to God.
Heaven’s sound will find expression through your shout. We have to make our own noise if we’re to live the life we desire.
Your “shout” is a strong internal voice which guides and overcomes. It’s a voice of praise and your life message. Your shout is about passion and intensity.
God responds to it!
Winning takeaways
- Take some time to think about the signal-to-noise ratio in your life. How can you filter the noise around you? And what about the noise on the inside? Resolve to discover and amplify the true signal of your life.
- Release your shout with high praise—make a joyful noise! Declare God’s promises with firm faith. Speak! Remember, your shout is an authentic internal voice, a life-voice which guides and overcomes. Your shout is greater than all other noise.
- As the sound of your life-shout increases, expect God to ascend over the affairs of your life. “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered” (Psalm 68:1 NKJ).
- Discover precedent from the epic Jericho event (see Pure Genius … the Explosive Jericho Strategy). Seek fresh encounters with The Commander. Don’t declare what the world is saying. Be silent. Then shout with heaven’s sound!
