📖 Scripture
The inspired Scriptures stand above all other literature and writing. They are full of the life and Spirit of God. To read, meditate, proclaim, and pray the Scriptures releases the potential of God in our personal world and the world we influence.
“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” (James 2.17 ESV). ✨ See the principle in James 2. Faith isn’t static—it moves. When you believe, you act.
“Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal…” (Philippians 3.13-14 NKJV). ✨ Progress comes from intentional pursuit. Flooding the zone means pressing forward—focused and driven by purpose.
“Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.” (Ecclesiastes 11.4 NLT). ✨ Don’t wait for ideal conditions. Taking massive (even imperfect) action is how we partner with God to move forward.
🛐 Prayer
Father, thank You for the faith You’ve placed in me. I know that faith without works is dead, and I commit to stepping out in boldness now. Help me to flood my life with the kind of action that moves mountains, whether small or big, perfect or imperfect. Guide me as I press forward with intensity, never looking back, but always reaching for what lies ahead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
👑 Kingdom Personal Statement
I am not bound by circumstances, but I am empowered by faith to take bold, decisive action. Today, I choose to flood my life with momentum, breaking free from passivity. I am stepping into new opportunities, expanding my influence, and trusting God to guide me through every imperfect step. My breakthrough is unfurling, and I move forward with confidence and purpose.
Episode Transcript — Flood the Zone: Overwhelm Your “Stuckness” …
Hey, everybody. Welcome to the podcast. This is Brian Del Turco with Jesus Smart X Podcast. I’m glad you’re here.
We have low production value but hopefully very high content value today. There are some equipment issues and software transferability issues going on, so you’re not hearing music or effects, but it’ll come back. We believe the content is high in this episode, so let me ask you a question.
The Problem: Why We Get Stuck
Have you ever felt like you’re waiting for that perfect moment to act or move on something? You’re analyzing it—if we’re honest, probably over-analyzing it. You’re hesitating, overthinking it, maybe even procrastinating. But what if the key to breaking through into that new thing isn’t waiting, but taking massive action?
Welcome to the show today. My name is Brian Del Turco. If you’re feeling stuck right now, whether it’s in work, relationships, your faith (which is core), or a personal goal, project, or personal horizon you’re pursuing, then this episode is for you.
Today I want to talk about a strategy—it’s not original with me, but we can call it Flooding the Zone. When things aren’t moving, sometimes the best thing you can do is overwhelm your stuckness with action.
Understanding Why We Stay Stuck
Let’s talk about the problem and why we get stuck. If you have faith in Christ, you have the resourcing of prayer, faith, and receiving vision from your Heavenly Father. These are tremendous resources that are above the normal. But there are also some very practical dynamics that we need to apply.
Maybe you’ve been trying to start something—a creative project, a healthier lifestyle, a business. Maybe you’re wanting to get married and start a relationship. Or maybe you’re facing an opportunity—not just challenges and pain points, but aspirations and opportunities you can get stuck on. Perhaps it’s a new friendship or relationship, but doubt is leaching in and uncertainty is holding you back.
One of the reasons we get stuck is that we’re waiting for things to align perfectly. But here’s the truth—let’s just be real and honest about it. Clarity often comes after we start taking action, not before.
Young man, if you’re thinking about that young lady and wondering about the possibility of building a relationship and for her to say yes to a marriage, you’re not going to find out until you start moving on it. You have to iterate and explore it. The clarity comes after we start to take action, not before. And we can apply this to anything.
So instead of waiting, procrastinating, and getting in a fetal position thinking “it’s just not going to happen,” what if you just flooded the zone? What if you took so much action that being stuck became impossible? What if you overcame your stuckness with energy and action?
Signs Your Breakthrough Is Near
Have you ever felt overwhelmed? It’s a very uncomfortable feeling—that sense of being in overwhelm. Maybe it’s because you’ve been putting something off, feeling unprepared, or not having much confidence because you haven’t taken any practical steps on that matter. But that can often be a sign that the breakthrough is closer than you think.
The stuckness and resistance coming at you could be an indicator that the breakthrough is closer than you think.
Four Ways to Flood the Zone
Let’s dive into this. If you’re a person of faith, you have the resourcing of prayer, reaching out to your Heavenly Father for counsel, and leaning into the Holy Spirit for ideation, solutions, and a lead. But if we can couple that with these practical concepts—if we can take these concepts and supersize them with our relationship with the Lord, with the creativity of the Holy Spirit, with the power of His Word and prayer, and with that identity and security you get from your Heavenly Father as you cultivate that relationship—you can supersize or super-plus these practical steps.
1. Reach Out and Expand Your Network
We’re not meant to do life or try to lead something or create something alone. If you’re feeling stuck, maybe it’s time to widen your circle.
You can get exposed by stepping into spaces that challenge the status quo. You have to disrupt yourself. You’re stuck, I’m stuck. You’re procrastinating, I’m overanalyzing. Whatever. We’re not moving, but we can step into spaces that disrupt ourselves and challenge our status quo.
We need to expose ourselves to new ideas, new communities of people, new circles of relationships. We need to acquire some new skills—things that stretch our comfort zone. Connect with new people who bring fresh ways of seeing things and fresh ideas into your life. These could be professional relationships or casual relationships.
Do you know I keep seeing articles on this? It’s very healthy for you—mentally, emotionally, in terms of your perspective—to talk with strangers. Just strike up a conversation with a stranger. Not only will it help you socially and emotionally, but there may be an intangible or fresh way of seeing something. Or maybe you can talk about the things you’re interested in and help them as well.
Engage with mentors or peers who challenge you. Maybe you have old mentors you’d like to breathe some life back into, or maybe you need some new mentors. Different seasons require different guidance. Life evolves and iterates. People come in and out of our lives. You’ll have friendships and peers who will be lifers walking with you through life, but you’ll have many more who come and go in different seasons. The Lord uses that to bring what you need in that season and to develop you and position you for the next season.
Have conversations that spark insight. Don’t underestimate the power of talking over coffee—the natural caffeination as well as, more importantly, the mental stimulation, the emotional caffeination, and the new perspectives that can percolate. Sometimes one key relationship changes everything, but you won’t find it unless you put yourself out there.
Your relational network should never be static for years upon years. It should be dynamic. There will probably be some pruning, but there will also be growth. And hopefully what we’re looking for is increased fruitfulness. Someone says your worth is your net worth or the worth of your network. There’s a lot of truth to that.
2. Get Exposed to New Things by Stepping Into New Spaces
We need to read books. Reading is one of the most powerful things you can do. Do you know that statistics show if you read the top three books in some area of interest or some space you’re trying to grow in—maybe it’s professional, maybe it’s personal—you will be in something like the top three percentile of all people on the planet with expertise in that area? But it just takes the discipline of reading.
Television, doom scrolling, being envious and coveting others by scrolling—all of that will help you zero. There is no help from that. But quality books, quality podcasts, quality YouTube videos—maybe you’re taking a class, maybe you’re in a full-on education program, maybe you’re in a reading group—these will help.
Attend events, attend conferences, or connect with online communities that stretch you. When you attend an event or conference, the power of it is that you’re pulling yourself out of your normal space, your normal rhythm, and you’re in a totally new space with others who have very similar interests. You’re going to hear speakers and meet people and maybe participate in events that are going to be incredibly stimulating.
I like to think of conferences as conferring with others. You hear that word in conference—conferring with others. If it’s a faith conference or something in the Christ-following space, I see the conferring as two-dimensional. We’re conferring vertically with God together and we’re conferring horizontally with each other.
Explore different perspectives, even if they challenge your assumptions. Basically, you’re growing—you’re being educated. Don’t stop being educated. Do you know the meaning of the English word “educate” from the Latin root? The Latin root means “to call forth.” Education helps you emerge; it calls you forth. You can be more, you can do more. And education is key to that.
Exposure to new ideas can lead to the shift you’ve been waiting for. Today, there’s no reason not to learn. We have access to the internet. Everything is democratized. There are free courses. Do you know you could take free courses from Harvard? Yes, you can. Multiple universities and schools offer free courses. There are all kinds of opportunities for education and skill-gathering.
3. Take Massive Action: Progress Over Perfection
A lot of people stay stuck because they’re waiting for that perfect plan or perfect time. But real progress comes when you take imperfect action.
Do you think the disciples were perfect? Jesus gives us a master class in leading people and getting them to take massive action. He only had them for three and a half years, and he left the most important thing in history with them after that time. He took these rough people—some say many of these guys were teenagers. I just heard recently that Peter may have been 24, the oldest, and the others may have been teenagers. Amazing.
He immersed them, taught them, and then immersed them in action. They took massive action. He sent them out on missions, taught them, immersed them. Massive action. They accelerated, grew, and matured quickly.
It doesn’t have to be perfect. Were his disciples perfect? Of course not. Many times they were case studies in dysfunction, carnality, selfishness, and pride. It doesn’t have to be perfect. We’re talking about progress, not perfection. Progress, not perfection will open doors.
Instead of waiting to launch something, start. Get a minimum viable amount of information and resourcing to start something. You don’t have to have a full-blown federal case budget and a master plan that comes out of the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania to do something. Start it. You need something minimal—a vision, a mission, maybe some minimal resources, some minimum ideas to get started. But just start and then iterate.
Don’t overthink it. Commit to taking a step forward today. Trust that momentum will build as you begin to move. Please—I really should have a mirror I can pull out from time to time, because listen, I’m on a journey too. I’m learning. I’m not the learned; I’m learning myself. And the Lord seeks to coach me up as well, just as He does you.
Begin and iterate. Begin fast, fail fast, and iterate. Elon Musk will tell you: fail fast and iterate. Find out what doesn’t work, but you do that through movement and momentum.
You don’t need the full picture to take that first step. Did Abraham have the full picture when God called him? No, it says he went out not knowing where he was going. But as he journeyed with God, he learned and progressed. And the Lord developed him through the journey. That’s what He’ll do with you and me.
As we’re taking massive action, there will be temptations and obstacles. We will be coached up on how to overcome these things, how to not be distracted, how to stay focused.
4. Focus With Intensity
When you want to get unstuck with massive action, focus with intensity. Zero in on what matters. This is about eliminating distractions and really taking a deep dive into what truly matters. When you do this, it creates the space for meaningful breakthroughs.
Distraction is the enemy of momentum. If you want to break through, you have to dial in. You’ve got to focus, you’ve got to lock in. Go for the signal, not the noise.
Cut out noise and unnecessary distractions. Even think about the word “distract”—what does it mean? To take you off track. Schedule deep time where you can push towards your goals, whatever they may be, and be ruthless with your attention.
Do you know one of the greatest commodities on earth today, the greatest currency, is time? And we may be able to say that the second greatest currency is attention—what you give your attention to in time. In marketing, political science, and different domains, they know that attention is a premium. So be ruthless with your attention.
What you focus on magnifies, tends to grow, and positions you for success. As you flood the zone with focused effort and maximum action, things will start to shift. You will feel it—all the while you’re praying.
Moving in Prayer-Born Action
You see, my friend, you want to hear the voice of the Lord as much as possible, and you want to move in what I call prayer-born action. Pray about it. You don’t have to have an angel talk to you about it—just pray. If you feel anything in your heart in terms of instinct or desire, begin to lean and move into it. Keep praying, keep moving, keep focusing, and things will start to shift. If it’s off a little bit, the Holy Spirit will guide you.
Sometimes we don’t get stuck by making one big move, and don’t make this mistake—don’t underestimate many small moves compounding over time. We get unstuck by making many small ones that compound over time. Periodically there may be a quantum shift or what feels like a breakthrough, but it’s surrounded before and after and underneath and on top by many small action steps that compound over time.
As we flood the zone with action, we can see what begins to shift. You can feel the peace of the Lord in your heart. You can feel the affirmation of the Lord. You feel like the Lord’s smiling on this. I feel it on the inside. It’s making me smile. And other people around me are starting to smile because they’re seeing me smile, and they sense that something is shifting. You draw down the Father’s aspirational heart for you.
Your Next Move: Take Action Today
There they are—the four tips again to recapitulate:
- Reach out and expand your network. Increase your surface area.
- Get exposed to new ideas and concepts and step into new spaces of learning.
- Start taking that massive action. It’s progress over perfection. By the way, don’t go by emotions. Do you understand that usually emotions trail massive action? Emotions are on the coattails of taking massive action. So we don’t go by feelings. We don’t wait until we feel like it. No, we make a decision. We take massive action. And the feelings—the right feelings—start when you’re doing the right things.
- Focus with intensity. As you’re doing this, keep all of this covered in prayer and just lean into the Lord. Trust not in your own self and your own understanding, as it says in Proverbs 3, but in all of your ways acknowledge Him—which means to know Him relationally and intimately in the Hebrew there—and He will straighten out and smooth your pathways. What a tremendous promise.
Journal Your Action Steps
Now, what’s your next move? What’s my next move? Journal. Successful people journal. Write down your pain points, write down your aspirations, write down what action steps you feel you need to start taking now. As you get ideas and insights, capture them, review them, rehearse them, pray over them. Open that journal up before the Lord and ask Him to bless it.
What one action can you begin to take today to start flooding the zone? Maybe it’s reaching out to someone. Maybe it’s consuming some new idea. Maybe it’s taking a bold step. Or maybe it’s just a resolve: “Come hell or high water this week, I’m going to lock in my focus like an astronaut.”
Whatever it is, don’t wait. Move now.
Build Momentum Together
If this episode spoke to you, share it with someone you feel would value it as well. That’s what it’s all about here at Jesus Smart X. Let’s stop waiting and start building momentum together.
The world is waiting for you. There are things you’re built to address. There are parts of the garden you’re called to cultivate. There are things you’re supposed to design and draw down God’s higher design over. There are solutions you’re called to bring. There are answers you’re called to deliver. And the world is waiting for you. The body of Christ is waiting for you. This will bless your family or your future family. This will bless your grandkids. A lot of things are counting on you and me.
All right, little challenge there for me. So until next time, stay focused, stay engaged, and keep moving forward.

GREAT suggestions! VERY encouraging / inspiring! I’ve personally experienced the truth of some of these suggestions. Well worth the time to listen to. Thank you for this Brian!!
