Go Deeper — Consecrate Your New Frontiers

consecrate your new frontiers
A frontier is the extreme limit of settled land. Beyond the frontier is the unknown. At least we don’t know it by experience yet. We may see and sense some things.

Sometimes they are thrust upon us. Other times we choose them as we seek to flow with the Wind of the Spirit of in our lives (John 3:8). But Jesus is the Ultimate Change Agent — he calls us to new frontiers. It all fits in with the Greater Story he is writing.

“Do not remember the former things, or ponder the things of the past. Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:18-19 NASB).

And they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God with the Levitical priests carrying it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it. Then Joshua said to the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you’” (Joshua 3:4-5 NASB).

Key takeaways from this episode

TAKE PERSONAL INVENTORY. Ask God to search you. As we game up our interior game, we can game up our exterior game. Internals create and shape externals. See Psalm 139:23-24.

EMBRACE THE PRIMACY OF THE WORD OF GOD. It cleanses. Purifies. Equips. Frames. Strengthens. The Word helps us to refine our internal “tuning fork” so that we can more clearly pick up the Voice Signature of God in our lives. “For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer” (1 Timothy 4:4-5 NASB).

Ask the Holy Spirit for “Advance Words” as you approach thresholds and move into new frontiers. Write them down. You will need them to anchor you when doubt or challenges arise. These could be promises from Scripture or something personal you feel the Holy Spirit is saying to you. Move in faith!

PRAYER — RELATE TO CHRIST IN THE “COOL OF THE DAY” Nothing real happens but in response to prayer … as far as God is concerned. We seek to hear the Voice of the Living Word via the Written Word. As we do, we pray and say (confession, decrees) with effectiveness. We walk and converse with Christ in the “cool of the day” as in Eden. Stay cool to rule. We can’t fulfill our mandate and assignments without getting cool (conversational relationship, prayer) with Christ. Play It Cool to Rule With King Jesus (Text and Audio)

NAME YOUR NEW FRONTIER FOR WHAT IT REALLY IS. Define and clarify. Own it. It’s always about a Sovereign King – Vice Regent partnership. The Creator-human enterprise is back in play in Christ! Call it good. Bless it. Redefine and “name” things in harmony with Higher Design — listen to What the Snake Doesn’t Want You to Know: You Have Authority to Name Things (Ep 138).

MAKE COURAGEOUS, QUALITY DECISIONS. Strengthen resolve. A good decision is an incision. Cut yourself away from what is not worthy of you and your story. Invest in a preferred future as Christ leads. Listen to Your Future Self to You: “Make Strong Decisions and Go Bold!” (Ep 142).

MOVE. God will shape you and steer your journey as you move in Christ. In Athens, Paul quoted Aratus, a Greek poet, and filled his statement with new Kingdom meaning … “For in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said” (Acts 17:28 NASB). Engage your frontiers. Move into new territory.

Make a Joyful Noise and See God Act! (Jesus Smart article)
