Stand Before Kings — Stephen Lauterbach (Ep 171)

We are designed to be ambassadors for Christ, re-presenting Him well. Metalhead turned husband and father, Stephen Lauterbach lives with a strong theme … he says we are called to excel and “stand before kings” (Proverbs 22:29).

Listen to episode #171:

There’s a condition to follow Jesus in this way: living with excellence in the various life domains. Are you up for this commissioning? There’s good news. If you are, the Holy Spirit will guide and empower you.

Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.

Scripture

stand before kings
Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives (Colossians 3:16 NLT).

Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men (Proverbs 22:29 ESV).

We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20 NASB).

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me (2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT).

Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men (Amplified Bible).
